Wuhan, capital city of central China’s Hubei Province, ranks fourth among 15 sub-provincial cities across the country and enters the first tier in terms of comprehensive tourism competitiveness, according to the latest China Tourism Development Report issued by the China Tourism Academy on December 15.
The evaluation result in the report indicates that Wuhan ranks the first tier in aspects of tourism competitiveness, potential competitiveness and development environment competitiveness.
Tourist sites in Hubei Province rebounded in business after scrapping entrance fees for domestic visitors from Aug. 8, a token of gratitude for nationwide assistance during the COVID-19 outbreak.
As of December 13, the scenic spots in Hubei received a total of 15.276 million visitors in group tours,2.38 times increase compared with the same period last year.
So far, 94.7 percent of the star hotels and 88.29 percent of travel agencies have resumed operation, according to the provincial culture and tourism department.(en.hubei.gov.cn by Zhang Yawei)
