In 2020, the GDP of Wuhan East Lake Hi-tech Development Zone(Optics Valley of China)bucked the trend and finally achieved a growth of 5.1percent, breaking the 200 billion yuan mark for the first time.
Suffering from the epidemic, the economic development of Optics Valley saw a V-shaped performance, and the recovery of which is heavily reliant on continuous technological innovation. At present, there are 3,100 high-tech enterprises in the zone, accounting for nearly half of those in Wuhan.
The continuously optimizing business environment also began to bear fruit. In 2020, 20,000 new market entities and 18,000 enterprisesregistered in the zone, bringing the total number of market entitiesover 140,000.
