The gross domestic product (GDP) of Hubei Province stood at 5.37 trillion yuan in 2022, with private sector accounting for 54.2percent of the province's GDP, up 0.5 percentage points yearonyear, according to themeeting of HubeiFederation of Industry and Commerceon April 11.


Duringthe same period,the total import and export volume of private enterprises in Hubei increased by 20.1percentyear on year,taking up a63.4-percent shareof theprovincialtotal.


Hubei's leading private companies enjoy sound development momentumlast year.A total of 19 enterprises were listed in China's top 500 private enterprises, ranking first in central China and the seventh place nationwide.

The number of new market entities reached 1.44 million. A total of 2,368 new industrial enterprises were established, hitting a new record high.


Hubei’s economic indicatorsgotoff to a good start from January to February this year, with an upbeat trend to follow.The import and export volume of private enterprises amounted to59.84 billion yuan, ascending by32.1percentyear on yearand contributing65.9percenttothe provincial total, which was 8.8 percentage points higher than the same period of last year.(en.hubei.gov.cn by Zhang Yawei)
