Eight county-level areas from Hubei Province made the 2023 list of the top 100 county-level cities in China, according to a report released on July 25.
The annual report, which was released by CCID Consulting, a firm affiliated with a think tank under the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, evaluated county-level administrative regions in China based on such four aspects as economic strength, growth potential, overall wealth, and green development. Compared with previous years, the listed cities this year are those who generated GDP of no less than 60 billion yuan and general public budget revenue of no less than 2 billion yuan at the same time.
Among the eight entrants from Hubei - Xiantao City, Daye City, Yidu City, Qianjiang City, Zaoyang City, Zhijiang City, Hanchuan City and Tianmen City, the former seven moved up on the list.
The total number ranked first in central China and fourth in the country. And Xiantao City became the first county-level city with GDP exceeding 100-billion-yuan mark in the province. (en.hubei.gov.cn by Ruan Xinqi)
