Hubei’s industrial economy recorded a steady recoveryin the first eight months of the year, the Department of Economy and Information Technology of Hubei Province said on September 20, 2023.
From January to August, the added value of industries above designated size in the province rose by 5.4 percent year on year, 1.5 percentage points higher than national level.
In August alone, the added value of industries above designated size in the province increased by 6.2 percent year on year, the highest so far this year.
Among the 17 cities and prefecture in the province, the growth rates of 14, including Huangshi (10.3 percent), Jingzhou (8.4 percent) and Jingmen (8.1 percent) were seen higher than the province’s average level.
During the same period, the province added 2,079 new industrial enterprisesabove designated size, pushing the total number to18,950. The output value of new enterprises expanded by more than 1.3 times in August, driving industrial growth of the province by 2.4 percentage points. (en.hubei.gov.cn by Ruan Xinqi)
