Chen Ping, vice governor of Hubei Province, met with Felipe Camarao, deputy governor of Maranhao State in Brazil on October 12, in Wuhan, capital city of Hubei Province.
After expressing warm welcome to Felipe Camarao and his delegation, Chen gave a brief introduction of Hubei’s economic and social development.
She said that Hubei and Brazil have formed four pairs of sister provinces, states and sister cities. In 2022, Hubei’s foreign trade with Brazil amounted to 28.312 billion yuan. It is hoped that the two sides could further advance all-round strategic cooperation.
Chen added that Hubei and Maranhao are highly complementary in terms of resource endowment, economic structure and development stage. We hope to take this visit as an opportunity to promote all-round cooperation between the two places, in an effort to bolster investment and trade, agricultural technology cooperation and cultural exchanges.
Felipe Camarao expressed his hope to boost bilateral cooperation with Hubei in the fields of economy and trade, tourism, health, agriculture and education. He expected more Hubei-based enterprises to invest in Maranhao. (en.hubei.gov.cn by Zhang Yawei)
